Right across from our hotel was the Cafe de la Mairie which is where we spent a lot of time. In fact even when we came back and did not stay in the Place Saint Sulpice we still came back here. We were very pleased with ourselves to have discovered this cafe which seemed so unpretentious and off-the-beaten-path but as soon as I put this photo on my Facebook page my friend Simon wrote to tell me that is where he went every day when he was in Paris. About a block away is the Marche St Germain which is a covered market that is now more of a covered mall, though it still has some pretty cool food shops and a few restaurants and clothing shops. The little street to the right is Rue de Canettes which is full of restaurants, bars, a jazz club or two and a micro-brewery. |
